Erasing Fear From Your Heart – Pneu You

What Are You Listening To?

Are you mindful of what you have been listening to? The word listen means,” to give attention to, attend closely, and to wait attentively for.” We have all been conditioned to follow the latest trends and happenings, so we shift our attention rapidly from one thing to the next. It’s easy to float through our lives with no awareness of what we are giving our attention to, however, what we are lending our ears is the greatest source of the fears we carry within ourselves.

Listening and hearing involve more than our ears. It’s about receiving information through our eyes, experiences, and other senses as well. The information we receive gets planted into our minds and ultimately shapes how we believe and respond to the things that occur in our lives. In the grander scheme of things, we need to be able to harness the power of our attention.

Be Careful HOW You Hear – The Ear and Heart Connection

Isn’t it ironic that the word ear is embedded within the words f(ear) and h(ear)t?

When I mention the word heart I’m referring to the conscious and subconscious states of our minds that govern our lives whether we know it or not. Our heart is susceptible to suggestions and must be carefully attended to if we desire a better quality of life.

Keep your heart

There is a scripture in the bible that says..“Keep your heart with all diligence, For out of it springs the issues of life. (Proverbs 4:23)”. Think about that, out of your heart (mind) flows the issues of life. The word issues allude to your source of life and the boundaries that surround your life. What this verse implies is that we should be extremely careful about what we give our attention to because those things spring up and shape our lives and destiny.

If you reflect on any limiting belief or situation that has been a source of fear for you, I’m sure you can trace it back to something you heard and gave your attention to even if it only started out as a conversation. Think of the things you have never pursued simply because someone made a fearful suggestion to you. You never gave yourself a chance to see for yourself because you allowed their suggestion to be planted into your heart and it birthed fear within you. It shaped your imagination so that when you even thought of the situation, you saw images that corresponded to fear rather than courage.

What’s In You In Abundance Comes Out

Once you’ve given your attention to a fearful suggestion, it shapes how you perceive things and even starts to govern how you verbally express yourself. Think of all the things you’ve avoided and said..”I can’t, it won’t work, or it will fail” Most of those statements are accompanied by mental images and emotions that are interconnected to what you’ve said.

The fearful suggestions have been planted into your heart and now you are growing and giving life to them. Those suggestions are now becoming the “issues” of your life because you weren’t mindful of diligently guarding your heart. The good news is that once you have this understanding, you can pluck up those fearful seeds from within and plant seeds of courage, hope, and power.

Encourage Yourself

Think of what the word encourage means..” to give support, confidence or hope”. In order to remove fear from your life, you must start by encouraging yourself. It’s not the easiest thing to do but it’s necessary for each of us to develop. It’s wonderful if you have the support of loving friends and family that circle around you and cheer you on, but most of us don’t have that luxury. Most of us are finding that we are oftentimes alone and dealing with the issues of life on our own.

Finding a way to encourage yourself allows you to build a stronger foundation within so that as the circumstances of life come towards you, you will be able to stand strong. It equips you to not be dependent upon others that may never come to your aid when you are facing an emergency. When you infuse thoughts, emotions, and inner dialog with ideas of confidence, assurance, and success, you begin to remove seeds and thought patterns of negativity and fear.  Be mindful of what you give your attention to, how you are listening, and start to remove yourself from fear and fill your heart with courage!
